Demand for male beef has continued to increase before Christmas. So, prices for young males ready to slaughter was still increasing in November while prices for female remained under pressure.

BEEF CATTLE MARKET PRICE IN BRAZIL

Beef quotations have been oscillating in 2023 but are still at lower levels compared to the year before with more animals ready to slaughter. According to IBGE between January and September 2023, beef production hit a record: 6.4 million tons were produced (+8% /2022 and +4.5% /2019, the previous record).

BEEF PRICES IN CHINA

The impact of a slower Chinese economy has started again to be felt in beef prices. In November, beef prices have decreased.

BEEF CATTLE MARKET OUTLOOK IN USA

Recently, beef cattle prices have slightly decreased. According to the USDA, wholesale beef prices have been trending lower since the shorter-than-expected seasonal uptick in late October. This has encouraged packers to try to minimize the prices paid.
